25th APRIL

For over century, every year in
Australia and New Zealand,
on  the 25th of April we remember and commemorate the courage and sacrifices of the service men and women who have fought and given their lives for freedom.

Despite being on the other side of the world, here in Antibes, on the French Riviera,
we continue this important tradition by inviting all Australians, New Zealanders, Irish, British and French to a unique and official ANZAC Day Ceremony.

See below for details of our 2021 morning service
at the Fort Carré, Antibes.

Here in France, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we are obliged to respect the hygiene restrictions in place. For our health and safety, the authorities in Antibes have allowed us to commemorate ANZAC Day in Antibes whilst limiting participation numbers.

We are organising a pared-down, short and simple commemoration at

7:00am, Sunday 25th April at the Fort Carré.

The site at the foot of the "Poilu" statue will remain open all day Sunday, 25th April with the flag-poles and wreaths left in situ. Families, individuals, small groups will be able to pay homage whilst respecting the hygiene recommendations in vigor. Please note that, unlike previous years, and much to our regret, there is no social gathering organised for after the ceremony.

No matter where we are in the world, Australians and New-Zealanders will never surrender the fighting spirit and values of the original ANZACs to COVID-19. It’s a day that means so much to all of us – a unique commemoration deeply ingrained into the DNA of Aussies and Kiwis. Even more so in this time of hardship and far from our home country.

Now more than ever, in the middle of this global crisis, it’s time to remember, commemorate and let those ANZAC values shine through – mateship, endurance, ingenuity, good humour and courage.

Lest We Forget.
